Stuck In Square

by Ann-Leonie Niss

09/17 Teatro Victoria, Santa Cruz, Tenerife (ESP)

The piece portrays the endlessly recurring moment of change. Which hinges on broad, all-changing decisions as much as on the petty struggles of everyday life.

The feeling of stagnation leads to a build-up of inner restlessness that can invigorate or paralyze us. The gap between the two is narrow.

Pressed into recurring behaviours by social structures, the question arises: how can this feeling of immobility be overcome? Which decisions can and should I make? Can an equilibrium be reached in overcoming external limitations?

The physical limits themselves are manifested and reinforced on stage by geometric bodies of light.
